Dental Implants

Dental implants are the newest technological advancement in dentistry for replacing missing teeth. Made of biocompatible titanium which integrates with your jaw bone, implants are used to replace one or more missing teeth, and are a successful alternative to conventional bridges and can hold loose dentures in place. In essence, dental implants are root replacements that give patients life-like dental restorations with the beauty and vitality of natural teeth.

Why would I need an endodontic procedure?

Endodontic treatment is necessary when the pulp, the soft tissue inside the root canal, becomes inflamed or infected. The inflammation or infection can have a variety of causes: deep decay, repeated dental procedures on the tooth, or a crack or chip in the tooth. In addition, an injury to a tooth may cause pulp damage even if the tooth has no visible chips or cracks. If pulp inflammation or infection is left untreated, it can cause pain or lead to an abscess.

Ques es la endodoncia?

Endodontic (root canal) therapy is a highly specialized type of dental care developed to save teeth by the removal of infected and/or damaged "nerve" tissue from the inside of the tooth. This tissue, called pulp, contains nerves and blood vessels that help nourish the tooth. Infected pulp can lead to an abscess at the end of you roots. An examination, including necessary x-rays and other tests, determines if the pulp is infected. If root canal treatment is necessary, the pulp is removed and the root canal is cleaned, sterilized and sealed with a filling material to prevent further infection. The entire procedure can take one to multiple visits and is accomplished with little or no discomfort through the use of local anesthetics.
